Parker HVAC Solutions

Sub-HEPA, HEPA and ULPA Filter Solutions

for Every Application

For today’s HVAC applications where air cleanliness is critical, Parker offers an extensive line of High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) and Ultra-Low Particulate Air (ULPA) filters designed to trap microscopic airborne particles and contaminants from an air stream to produce a safe environment and prevent cross-contamination of manufacturing processes. Not only do our high-quality filter solutions outperform similar products on the market, but they are an effective way to reduce energy use and support sustainability efforts.

While our Sub-HEPA, HEPA, and ULPA filters serve the same function, they vary by efficiency and performance. The distinction between the filter types can be unclear given the range of testing methods. HEPA filters have a minimum efficiency of 99.97% at 0.3 microns, whereas ULPA filters have an efficiency rating of 99.999% at 0.12 microns or higher. This does not mean that ULPA filters are better than HEPA filters when taking air flow and other variables into account. In fact, HEPA filters cost less and have a lower resistance to air flow and have a longer service life than ULPA filters. Efficiency selection will be to meet the needs of the user and application, as specific conditions and operation may demand either HEPA or ULPA.

When selecting a filter, it’s important to choose the one that meets your appropriate defined standard, level of filtration, and system configuration. For assistance, contact your Parker HVAC representative for assistance in selecting the proper product configuration to meet your requirements.

MICROGUARD® HEPA Filters

Designed for use in higher air flow applications up to 500 FPM, Parker MICROGUARD® 2000 filters deliver HEPA filtration efficiency at 99.97%, 99.99%, and 99.999% on 0.3 micron particles. Installing MICROGUARD 2000 filters into new systems can reduce the space required by as much as 50%. For renovations and upgrades, the selection of these high capacity filters means longer service life, lower maintenance expenses, and less disposal cost. State-of-the-art engineering utilizes a unique score fold pleat design that increases media surface area and reduces opportunities for media damage during handling. MICROGUARD media is a continuous sheet of laid paper produced from glass microfibers which is subject to 11 distinct tests and inspections prior to shipment. Cell side construction is available in particle board, fire-retardant particle board, fire-retardant plywood, galvanized steel, stainless steel, formed or anodized aluminum. A fully sealed media pack prevents leakage and air bypass. Interlocking urethane gaskets are standard; silicone gaskets are used on high-temperature models; gel seal filters also available. Standard and high capacity models.

MICROGUARD® LR Sub-HEPA 12" Filters
Ideal for air handler unit (AHU) applications, Parker MICROGUARD LR® low-resistance 12" final-stage filters provide sub-HEPA filtration thanks to next-generation N-Fuse™ technology. N-Fuse by Parker incorporates three layers of hybrid synthetic gradient-density Fluro-Plasma treated media that delivers 98.5% efficiency on 0.35 micron particulate in ASHRAE and HEPA frame systems. MICROGUARD LR features Parker’s patented embossed E-Pleat® technology to effectively maintain filter geometry and spacing. Precise placement of adhesive non-metal separators maximize the available media for high purity filtration and low airflow capacity. Unlike traditional “separator-style” HEPA box filters, MICROGUARD LR filters require no significant capital expenditures to upgrade existing HVAC mechanical systems required to achieve high levels of indoor air quality. They are often used in mist collection systems for turning, milling, and grinding machinery processes using soluble water and/or water-based cutting fluids. All-plastic, light-weight models and 24-gauge metal box construction for traditional HEPA frame and side-access system applications. Fully sealed media pack prevents leakage and air bypass.

Parker MICROPLEAT® HEPA and ULPA Filters
Uniquely designed for lower air flow applications where uniform laminar air flow is needed, MICROPLEAT filters are available to meet both High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) and Ultra-Low Particulate Air (ULPA) minimum ratings up to 99.97% at 0.3 microns and 99.999% at 0.12 microns, respectively. The filters feature micro-fiber glass media and a mini-pleat design that provide outstanding particulate removal, dust-holding capacity. Parker’s MICROPLEAT filters are available in a wide range of materials and configurations to install in all types of housings and framing systems. This flexibility makes them an easy and effective upgrade for improving indoor air quality. Whether a HEPA or ULPA MICROPLEAT filter is selected, both are ideal for use in ceiling mount systems or areas where space is limited. Their performance is enhanced by the use of strong adhesive beads precisely placed to maintain critical spacing for minimum resistance over the entire range of air flow operation. Face sizes from 5" x 6" to 24" to 72".
