CHALLENGE:
Customer wanted an energy efficient solution to give them volume, pressure, and power control with a high flow requirement.
The OEM had a request to build high speed bailing machine for large high-volume box and refuse customers.
SOLUTION:
Parker and HTC distributor developed a solution that gives the ability to precisely control the main cylinder with flow and pressure.
Three parallel PV+ 270 cc pumps are used to meet the machine requirements. Proportional control gives the ability to control acceleration and deceleration of platen.
PQD controllers handle pressure, flow and power logic internally to maximize effectiveness of design and available power.
BENEFITS:
Simplified circuit, reduced valving and plumbing, as well as a reduced assemby time compared to the previous design, resulting in 4,500 € of savings.
Additional revenue of new sales generated over 900,000 €.
The end user is now able to increase throughput of bailing process.
The pump and control system were optimized for maximium power efficiency, delivering maximum flow and pressure directly to the main work cylinder. This optimization resulted in a significant reduction in pressure drop, which allowed the hydraulic system to run with an impressive 65% higher efficiency.
