Parker Italy selects Dynamo Camp as its philanthropic beneficiaryMILAN, Italy, 11. October 2021—Employees of Parker Hannifin, the global leader in motion and control technologies, have selected Dynamo Camp, a recreational therapy camp for children with serious illnesses or disabilities, to benefit from a donation made as part of the company’s efforts to support local communities where it operates.

Parker recently launched an International Grant Program to expand the Parker Hannifin Foundation’s reach beyond the United States. This marks the first time the foundation has made grants to charitable organizations internationally, paving the way for future commitments in the years to come.

Parker team members at Italy’s sales and manufacturing sites had cast a vote to determine which organization their philanthropic contributions would benefit.

The donation has helped ensure that children can attend the camps free of charge and can participate in the recreational activities with skilled camp counsellors and their peers. Located within a nature reserve in Italy’s Pistoia Apennine Mountains, the camp’s recreational activities range from adventure courses and horseback riding to swimming. They are adapted to accommodate Dynamo Camp campers.

Childhood illness can also affect a child’s entire family, and so programs also exist for the campers' families, including siblings.

Serena Porcari, Chairman of Dynamo Camp Onlus said, “we are grateful to Parker and each of their employees for choosing and trusting Dynamo Camp with such an engaging decisional process. We share a common attitude in caring for people, both our beneficiaries and our employees. We will be happy to further strengthen our partnership in the future.”

"The response of the Parker team members in Italy has been fantastic, their participation and their willingness to share their voice and actively support the local communities made it possible," said Marco Cattaneo, marketing and communications leader for Parker’s Sales Company South.

"Every Italian team member made their voice heard: hundreds of colleagues from different locations and regions have come together to help create a better tomorrow."

Parker plans to expand its International Grant Program to serve even more countries and local charities.

“We’re always working to better align these programs with our Corporate Social Responsibility areas of focus. This year, we piloted an international grant program in 10 countries, driven at the local level based on community needs,” said Leah Herman, Parker’s Corporate Social Responsibility Manager.

“Every dollar of the pilot budget was designated to a local charity, maximizing our footprint within our local communities. We are excited to be expanding our program on a global scale, enabling more team members to be engaged in the process.”
